{"id":690,"date":"2009-06-24T14:09:20","date_gmt":"2009-06-24T18:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tibetantailor.com\/?p=690"},"modified":"2009-06-24T14:14:33","modified_gmt":"2009-06-24T18:14:33","slug":"business-model-white-boarding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tibetantailor.com\/?p=690","title":{"rendered":"Business Model White-boarding better than sketching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Friday we were jamming through a product idea, and kept asking &#8220;What&#8217;s the business model?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t share that business model . . . yet, but one thing that has helped me (like grids and frameworks) is the following Business Model framework: Partners, Customer Relationships, Core Capabilities, Value Configuration, Value Proposition, Channels, Customers, Cost Structure, and Revenue Stream.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-771\" href=\"http:\/\/tibetantailor.com\/?attachment_id=771\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-771\" title=\"Business Model Framework\" src=\"http:\/\/tibetantailor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/Business-Model-Framework-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Business Model Framework\" width=\"250\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a>There are many different business modeling approaches. It comes from <a href=\"http:\/\/business-model-design.blogspot.com\/\">Alex Osterwalder<\/a>, and he has now an <a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_NS021FqASSU\/SGuMT9gicRI\/AAAAAAAAAB8\/kPl_fFbrHhM\/s1600-h\/Business-Model-Canvas\">updated business model framework<\/a>.\u00a0What I do it put the outline\/framework up on a white-board and then put stickies in the appropriate places. \u00a0Really gets you thinking in different ways because it is so easy to take a post-it and move it from one place to another. \u00a0THAT facilities good &#8220;design-thinking&#8221; about the business model. I like using post-its better than how I understand that Alex Osterwalder and others have you &#8220;write&#8221; it on a piece of paper.<\/p>\n<p>I think this is valuable exercise if you trying to start your own company, if you are consulting to one, or even if you are working or interning in a organization.
