Here&#8217;s one idea on how that might change Amazon&#8217;s strategy . . .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potential\u00a0Scenario<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong>Amazon has an edge right now.\u00a0They don&#8217;t pay state sales tax.\u00a0It gives them an advantage that perhaps 5% over competitors who have a\u00a0psychical\u00a0store in a state (which makes them pay the tax.)\u00a0I see the state budget situation forcing states to force amazon to collect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Impact &amp; Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If that happens, Amazon wouldn&#8217;t have any reason not to invest in\u00a0physical\u00a0locations.\u00a0How could they do that quickly?\u00a0Rite-Aid.<\/p>\n<p>They have 4800 locations in 31 states. \u00a0Drive through!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disclosure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I own Rite Aid stock.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems inevitable that Amazon will be soon living in a post sales tax world.
